About Us
The Mahoning Country Club was founded in the early 1920's and remained a private Club until 1972. The Club hosted the 1942 and 1943 Mahoning Valley Open which included players such as Ben Hogan, Gene Sarezan, and Bing Crosby. Nine of the original holes remain in play today. Most changes to the course occurred in the 1950's after John Ezzo purchased the property in 1943. The current building was built in 1967 after fire destroyed the original clubhouse. The latest changes to the course occurred in 1998 in which two new holes were opened. The exterior of the banquet hall was completely rennovated in 2007.
The second phase of renovations has been completed with the addition of the waterfalls and fountains in front of the banquet center.
Construction of the lake on #7 is ongoing.
